Project details
This program allows you to work for stay and food in Ecuador, while learning about the local culture, exploring the amazing country and improving your Spanish skills.
The program place is located close to the city of Ibarra, approximately 120 km (75 mi) north of the country’s capital, Quito. Work and Traveler live on an Ecuadorian Finca that has been converted into a strategical road stop for many travelers on the famous Pan-Americana, a road that goes all the way down from Alaska to Tierra de Fuego in Patagonia. The Finca serves as guesthouse, camping ground and Restaurant for globetrotters in Ecuador.
You will work in the Finca and help attending the guests from around the world. You will not only learn about local culture and lifestyle but also have the chance to listen to the exciting stories of the international guest who literally come from any part of this planet.
Tasks
Help is most needed in the café and restaurant that belong to the Finca. You will be working as a waiter or helping in the kitchen cutting fruits and vegetables or preparing meals. You will also be assisting in the office of the Finca, dealing with bills, bookings, administrative tasks, etc. Welcoming day-tourist and overnight guests will also belong to your responsibilities.
The café and the restaurant are especially busy during the weekend, so from Friday until Sunday your workday will be much tougher than on weekdays. You will have 2 - 3 days off during the week.
In this Work & Travel program in Ecuador you have the chance to get to know adventurers from all over the world as well as locals to learn more about their culture and language. In your free time take the chance to get to know your wonderful host country, the ancient traditions and interesting culture of Ecuador.
Accommodation
Work and Traveler in this program in Ecuador will live in a single room with a private bathroom at the program site. You will be also provided with daily breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The nearest supermarket is more or less 3 km (1.8 mi) away from your program place. Internet is available.
