Our Spanish school in Costa Rica's capital San José is located in a pretty and quiet neighborhood in the eastern part of the city. The city center and lots of cozy little street cafes and shops are easy to reach, as well as one of the largest and most modern shopping centers in the country. There, you will find lots of restaurants, shops, a cinema and other entertainment options.
The school building is a large house with a garden and modern equipment. It has a total of 38 classrooms, two computer rooms with Internet access (including WIFI), two dance halls for salsa courses and other dancing lessons, as well as various lounges and a garden, where the students can spend the breaks together. The language school is also equipped with a kitchen, where cooking classes take place.
The school was one of the first successful Spanish schools in Costa Rica. It was founded in 1989, has welcomed thousands of language students from all over the world to teach them the Spanish language and the Costa Rican culture. Our teachers know exactly what foreign language students need.
Are offered regularly (e.g. city tours, cooking classes, dancing classes, trips to national parks, sports, grammar workshops, conversation exercises, etc.). The activities can be subject to change and some require an additional payment on site.
WiFi is available in the school and can be used free of charge by the students.
San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica and home to approximately 340,000 people. The city is located almost exactly in the center of the country, in a fertile valley, surrounded by evergreen mountains, volcanoes and unique national parks.
The central location of the city, its pleasant climate all year round, as well as the cultural events make San Jose an attractive place for tourists and language students from all over the world.
San Jose is not only the capital, but also the political and economic center of the country. The rest of Costa Rica offers numerous protected areas and national parks, as well as smaller, but not less interesting towns and villages.
San Jose has blossomed into a modern city in recent decades. The infrastructure is very well developed, there are numerous shopping centers, hotels, hostels, restaurants, bars, museums and art exhibitions. A closer look reveals many historically significant buildings from the colonial era.
In Latin American comparison, San Jose is a small capital, which makes it very pleasant for visitors. The hustle and bustle and traffic chaos known from Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Lima or Buenos Aires are unknown in San Jose.
San Jose and all of Costa Rica have a tropical climate, so you can travel all year round! You will be amazed, like so many participants before you!
Everything that is fun can be learned quickly and easily. Therefore, the core of our Spanish courses in San José are active and diversified classes, both challenging and entertaining. From the beginning, the students should learn to think and speak in Spanish. You should get a feeling for the language and lose the fear of making mistakes. The learning concept is very intensive, the success rate is very high!
The learning material covers all four linguistic aspects: speaking, understanding, reading and writing. Role playing games for communication training, current newspaper articles, Spanish songs and much more are methods of teaching. The lessons are great fun and the learning atmosphere is very positive.
Our teachers are well qualified and are always happy to answer questions or give tips on great excursions. They have years of experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language and know how to give good and entertaining lessons.

Our students can live in carefully selected homestays where they are warmly welcomed. Living in a typical Costa Rican homestay allows you to practice your Spanish every day and is also the perfect way to get to know the Costa Rican culture properly. As part of a local household, you practice your language skills every day and at the same time get to know the Costa Rican way of life. You will experience the local culture up close and enjoy local dishes.
The Costa Ricans are very friendly and cheerful people and you will feel comfortable from day one. You get a single room with shared bathroom and of course you can use the common areas of the house. Accommodation at the homestay includes half board.
