This volunteer work in Costa Rica takes place in one of the country’s national parks. Although Costa Rica is a very small country, the vegetation and wildlife are extremely diverse. The national parks system was established to protect the country’s unique nature and biodiversity since the beginning of the environmental conservation movement.
Peru is home to an amazing wealth of different animal species; the Andean region in particular is the natural habitat of many wild animals and bird species. On the other side of the country in the Amazonas Region, Peru hosts an impressive number of exotic species and very diverse wildlife. The animal sanctuary in the Cusco region specialize in taking in wild animals that can no longer live independently in the wild.
The project is run by a non-profit conservation organization that protects habitats and species in Paraguay through scientific research and community outreach. Our partner also promotes a responsible approach to conservation, allowing tourists to contribute to social, scientific, and conservation projects that are designed to have a positive impact on Paraguay.
Our volunteer project is located near the main town on the island, Hanga Roa, and is overseen by the National Forestry Agency, which is part of the Chilean Ministry of the Environment. The project aims to reforest the island and reintroduce endemic plants. These have been greatly reduced by decades of deforestation, destruction and extreme weather conditions.
Since this animal rescue center was established, it has branched out into a wide variety of important activities, including environmental education, the management of protected areas, marine turtle conservation, sustainable community development, eco-tourism, and reforestation. Its Environmental Education Department reaches out to over 8,000 children per year throughout the country.
The volunteers not only share the little miracles of the cloud forest with the locals, but enjoy also the great hospitality, the lively music and their enthusiasm for nature.
This is one of the most efficient and well-run animal rescue centers in Ecuador. In addition to the animal rehabilitation center, our partners also manage other projects. There is a jungle lodge to promote eco-tourism and a reserve to preserve and protect the rainforest as well.
This project allows you to spend a few weeks on the beautiful Galapagos Islands as a volunteer at the Biological Station. Its main purpose is to restore native and endemic plant species and to reduce the impact of introduced species.
