Spanish school
Our Spanish school in Sámara is at an absolute top location, just a few steps from a dream beach. The internationally renowned school has two locations in Costa Rica. The Sámara Beach location was opened in 2001. The property on the beach guarantees a relaxed and nice atmosphere to learn Spanish. The students can enjoy beach activities such as surfing, swimming or just relaxing under the sun in their free time. Nearby restaurants, cafés and bars also provide many opportunities to meet up with friends or to taste the delicious tropical fruit juices and exotic cuisine.
The school's tropical gardens lead straight onto the sand. Students have time for a quick dip in the ocean during their break. On campus you will also find a rancho, fridge, hammocks, a lounge and outdoor showers, as well as plenty of social space.
Our Spanish school has a modern infrastructure and 15 classrooms, some with sea views. Sometimes the teachers go on excursions with the students, so that they can practice their Spanish “en vivo” with the locals.
The focus is put on communication. Through a good balance between theory and practice, and with lots of teaching material (paper and video), oral exercises and listening comprehension, the students learn to communicate in everyday situations.
There are also common rooms and a large open-air room where various activities such as dancing classes, yoga and cultural performances are held. A communal kitchen, an open-air study area, hammocks and information about excursions round it up.
The school was rated as a top school by the Lonely Planet travel guide.
Leisure activities
Latin dance, cooking, art, movies, conversation lessons, tutorials, yoga, sports and more (at no additional cost). Weekend excursions to the surrounding area are offered at an additional cost. The activities are subject to change.
Internet
WiFi is available at the school and can be used free of charge by the students.

What better place to learn Spanish than at a dream beach? Sámara is located on a tropical beach, surrounded by beautiful palm trees and is loved by locals and tourists alike. Although it is a fairly small town, Sámara offers a wide variety of leisure activities for every taste. You can snorkel, surf, do a canopy-tour, watch dolphins, ride horses and go kayaking, or just relax on the beautiful beach and enjoy the sun. This safe, quiet and now fairly modern small town is located in the province of Guanacaste and is a must-see for all visitors to the Nicoya Peninsula. About 5 hours from San José and 2.5 hours from Libería, Sámara with its white dream beaches and calm waves (ideal for beginners) is a special jewel on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica.

Sámara has pleasant temperatures all year round, and the year is divided into a dry and a rainy season. The rainy season on the Pacific side of the country lasts from May to November, the dry season from January to May. During the rainy season, it is mostly sunny and warm in the morning and there are rain showers in the afternoon and early evening.

Spanish levels
6 levels according to CEFR, Common European Framework of References (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2). On your first dayof class, or online beforehand, you will do a placement test in order to determine your current language skills. You will then be assigned to a suitable group.

Group course
20 lessons / week. Maximum 6 students / group.
Private course
10 lessons / week. The attention of your Spanish teacher is 100% yours. The Spanish course is completely adapted to your personal needs and interests.
Intensive course
25 lessons / week. Group course as described above + 5 private lessons per week. The great advantage of this combination is that weak points or specific topics can be worked on in the individual lessons.
Accommodation
An important aspect of our Spanish courses in Samara is having a nice and safe accommodation. Our students have two different living options:
Homestay:
If you would like to immerse as intensively as possible into the culture and way of life in Costa Rica, one of our cozy accommodations in a local homestay is right for you. You get a single room, half board (breakfast and dinner) and a weekly laundry service. The hosts either live within walking distance to the Spanish school or a few minutes away by bus.
School Residence:
Our school residence is located right next to the language school in Sámara and is therefore only a few steps from the beach. The house has 5 bedrooms (each with 2 to 5 beds), all of which are equipped with air conditioning. There are shared bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, a large common area with hammocks and dining tables, and a large garden. The school residence has wireless Internet access throughout the house and outdoors. It is also possible to rent a single room. (Note: A deposit of US$ 200 is required at the school residence. This will be refunded if the guest room is left properly.)
