The football club in northwest Córdoba is part of a foundation that creates learning and development spaces for children and young people in such socially vulnerable situations. Sport is used as a tool for social and educational inclusion. Through weekly training sessions, tournaments, and friendly matches, the children and young people are taught important values such as team spirit, fair play, and respect.

Your assignment in Argentina is divided into four consecutive phases:

1. Know to Love - Gaining Initial Insights
This phase takes place the week before the volunteer arrive. It consists of approximately two virtual workshops that provide an initial introduction to the history and culture of Argentina and Latin America.
2. Explore to Discover - Experiencing Córdoba
This phase begins with the volunteer's arrival in Córdoba and includes a tour of the city of Córdoba, as well as initial interactions with the foundation, its team, and the community where the volunteer work will take place. This process culminates in a joint assessment of each volunteer's specific skills to assign the tasks they will perform within the program.

3. Work to Learn – Actively Participate
In this phase, volunteer activities within the community begin, where volunteers learn to contribute their knowledge and talents and help advance local projects. Volunteers receive ongoing support from the local team, who help them integrate into the community.
4. Learn to Transform – Shaping Change
Throughout the volunteer program, volunteers are encouraged to identify and actively develop their own leadership style. In the final phase, they have the opportunity to lead their own social or environmental initiative with the support of the foundation and other local social organizations.

Your working hours as a volunteer at the football club are approximately 25 hours per week. Some activities may also take place at weekends when there are tournaments. Days of the week may be off.

With the volunteer work in Panama you support an animal welfare project in the preservation of the natural habitat of sea turtles in the beautiful Veraguas province of Panama. The project site is located in a protected area that was established by the government in 2008. The nature conservation program includes several beaches and strips of land with lush vegetation. It aims to restore and protect both natural flora and fauna.

The region is home to one of the most important breeding grounds for sea turtles on the Panamanian Pacific coast. On the beaches of the reserve you can find 4 different species of turtles laying their eggs. The most common species of sea turtle is the ridley turtle.

 In addition, the hawksbill sea turtle, the green sea turtle and the leatherback turtle come to lay their eggs on the beaches of the reserve.

The aim of the project is to protect the endangered sea turtle species. In addition to protecting the egg-laying sites, a very important part of the work is also educating the local population in the coastal communities. Greater awareness must be achieved with regard to the preservation and protection of these unique animals and their habitat. In addition, new specialists are to be trained to support scientific work.

Upon arrival, each volunteer will be informed about the goal of the conservation project and the most important basic knowledge about the sea turtles before the work begins.

The volunteer project always starts in May with the construction of breeding grounds and the cleaning of the beach and the surrounding areas. From around June, the patrols on the beaches start in order to protect, observe and register turtles as they lay their eggs. If necessary, nests are relocated to the project's safe breeding grounds.

From around June to February, volunteers and the local team monitor the various turtle species as they lay their eggs and note their habits and behavior. The sea turtles come to the beaches to lay their eggs mainly in the months of June to the end of December, with the main season being from August to September. 

So that the eggs of the sea turtles can be protected from predators and illegal theft (turtle eggs are traded as delicacies) and to ensure the growth of the population of the animals in the Pacific, some of the turtle eggs are collected by the volunteers and kept in incubators. The baby turtles hatch after a breeding period of 45-60 days and are then released into their natural habitat, the Pacific Ocean.

During the day, the volunteers help with environmental education projects for the residents of the region. An important part of the work is also monitoring the nests and collecting washed up rubbish on the beaches in order to keep the nesting grounds of the sea turtles clean.

We would like to point out that mother nature is unpredictable and we cannot give any guarantee about the number of sea turtles for a certain period of participation.

You will live in the Volunteer House in the reserve on the Pacific coast. There are shared rooms with bunk beds. You share the room with other volunteers as well as the bathrooms, kitchen and other common areas. The common rooms are simply but comfortably furnished. The Volunteer House can accommodate up to 10 volunteers.

The accommodations have electricity, which should, however, be used very sparingly. Three meals a day are included.

The turtle protection project is located in the southern part of the province of Veraguas directly on the Pacific coast. The capital Panama City is about 6 hours away by car. It is said that Veraguas combines the most beautiful of land and sea.

The area is also called the Pearl of the Pacific. From here, visitors can explore both the Pacific coast and the Caribbean coast, admire majestic mountains, get to know the impressive biodiversity, swim under imposing waterfalls, visit historical sites and, last but not least, relax on dream beaches with fine white sand. The warmth of the people is the perfect addition to this great program.

Panama's capital, Panama City, with its skyscrapers and modern buildings is around 6 hours away by car.

From a tourist point of view, Panama is still rather unknown, actually absolutely wrong we think. The country has an incredible amount to offer in terms of landscape, history and culture - breathtaking nature, diverse flora and fauna, fantastic national parks, an active culture of the indigenous population, sports facilities on water and on land as well as the world-famous Panama Canal in the heart of the pulsating metropolis Panama City - just to mention a few of the attractions that Panama has to offer.

This idyllic hostel is beautifully located in the historic area of Valparaiso, on Cerro Concepcion. Cerro Concepcion has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO due to its historical significance and very special architecture. Cerro Concepcion is full of colorful houses, viewpoints, street art, restaurants, cafes, shops, galleries, bars and clubs. There is something special to discover on every street corner. Bohemian life pulsates in the alleys surrounding the hostel and yet it is only a few steps away from the financial district, the sea, the harbor, the market, and the famous steep elevators of Valparaíso.

This picturesque and cozy hostel has been open since 2011 and welcomes backpackers from all over the world to its 25 rooms. The hostel can accommodate a total of 96 people. In addition to the guest rooms, there are cozy lounge areas that invite people to linger and chat with mates and travelers. Around 7-10 (depending on the season) employees look after the well-being of the guests.

Most of the work takes place in the hostel operation, such as working at the reception, doing check-in/check-out, answering emails, etc. What could be nicer than welcoming the guests there, being able to give them information and in return ensuring that they feel completely comfortable. The activities also include cleaning and maintenance work, such as keeping the common areas clean, preparing the beds and rooms for new guests (removing beds, remaking them), etc. As is usual in tourism, the work is divided into shifts and rotated. The night shift includes working at the reception so that guests can return late, cleaning work and preparing the breakfast buffet for the next morning. 

The tasks in this program position are diverse and can vary depending on where you are needed at the time. Please be flexible and always helpful.

So that you can do as much as possible in your free time and get to know the exciting city of Valparaiso, you have 3 days off per week. In total, the hostel can accommodate 4 volunteers.

The volunteers live in the volunteer area of the hostel. There are shared rooms with shared bathrooms. The volunteer area also has a kitchen and a small courtyard. In the kitchen you can prepare your meals and store groceries.

As far as food is concerned, you can serve your breakfast at the same buffet as the guests. 

Internet Wifi is available to participants and can be used outside of working hours.

Valparaíso is just 90 minutes by car from the capital Santiago de Chile and is located directly on the Pacific coast. For this reason, Valparaíso is also known as “La Joya del Pacífico” (the Jewel of the Pacific), as it is Chile's most important port city. The colorful mosaic of houses on the numerous hills above the sea was sung in songs and revered in poems. Pablo Neruda, the Nobel Prize winner for literature, was also inspired here. But it's not just a lot of poetry that makes everything shine here - Valparaíso impresses with its rough harbor charm.

Although Valparaíso is a little crazy, colorful, and chaotic, it is undoubtedly the most worth seeing city in Chile. On almost every corner there are small galleries, artist cafés, studios and street art projects that present art and culture here like nowhere else. The old town of Valparaíso has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2003. In a unique way, it combines the influences of immigrants from England, the USA, Germany, and France who joined the Spaniards in the 19th century. The city of Valparaíso was long considered a Chilean melting pot of cultures and was the most important port in South America until the Panama Canal opened.

There are numerous stairs that connect the upper and lower town - so residents have a real fitness routine every day. However, around 1900, steep elevators were built that effortlessly take you from bottom to top and back again. You definitely shouldn't miss a ride in one of these elevators!

Just a short ride by train takes you to the beautiful neighboring town of Viña del Mar with its long sandy beach. Other seaside resorts such as Reñaca, Concon and Maitencillo are also easily accessible. The area offers a high quality of life, fresh air, a unique atmosphere and exciting nightlife.

Teamwork is especially important – you will work closely with the owners, staff, and other volunteers on site, allowing you to make valuable contacts and friendships.

Work is organized in shifts, with the distribution of work areas being determined on-site. This takes into account the lodge's current needs, the number of volunteers, guest occupancy, the weather, and, of course, your skills. We ask participants to be flexible and adaptable, as the tasks vary and are not the same for everyone.

With a maximum working time of 40 hours per week and two days off (not necessarily on weekends), you have the flexibility to enjoy the stunning location and engage in leisure activities during your free time.

Comfortable accommodations directly on the lodge premises is part of the working holiday program. Volunteers have access to a charming little house that can accommodate up to five volunteers.

Single or shared rooms are available depending on occupancy, with gender-segregated rooms provided where possible. The house features two communal bathrooms.

One of the highlights is the wholesome meals, which include healthy and delicious home-cooked dishes, primarily vegetarian. Mealtimes serve as excellent opportunities to connect with fellow staff and owners, fostering networking.

For those wishing to remain connected during their leisure time, high-speed internet is accessible, available for use outside of working hours.

The working holiday program is hosted in a stylish boutique hotel that showcases a minimalist and rustic aesthetic. Your responsibilities in this program position revolve around the well-being of guests. Our volunteers work in the hospitality sector. The tasks include:

• You are the friendly face at the reception desk and accompany guests during the check-in and check-out process.
• You offer information to guests and are available to assist them with any requests they may have.
• Providing service during breakfast, lunch, and dinner: Working in the restaurant involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring that guests enjoy a pleasant and fulfilling dining experience.
• You help to coordinate the hotel's "special offerings": scheduling appointments for massages, whirlpools, yoga classes, and similar activities.
• Processing room charges through the hotel's reservation system.
• Assisting with the coordination of corporate events.

• Maintaining cleanliness and order in the hotel.

The work is conducted on a rotating shift basis: You will work 5 days a week followed by 2 days off. These days off do not necessarily align with the weekend. The early shift operates from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., while the late shift runs from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The work will be distributed as needed, and hours may vary. You are expected to be flexible and to help out wherever help is needed.

The program placement includes accommodation in the hotel's staff area.

Pichilemu is positioned along the Pacific coast, approximately a three-hour drive southwest of the capital city, Santiago. During the summer months in Chile, the population of 14,000 swells significantly; however, if you seek tranquility, Punta de Lobos is nearby yet removed from the busy atmosphere. The influx of tourists is complemented by local handicrafts, a vibrant nightlife, and a diverse array of culinary options, all while the town maintains its charming village ambiance and scenic surroundings.

"Pura Vida" is also the motto of this Costa Rica project, as it takes place in the heart of nature. Our project partner is a non-profit organization with 13 hectares of land that plays a crucial role in the conservation of coastal and terrestrial ecosystems on the Nicoya Peninsula, particularly in Playa Ario. The project combines education, research, and innovation to preserve marine and terrestrial habitats. This particularly includes promoting sustainable practices such as the introduction of regenerative agriculture and promoting chemical-free self-sufficiency to ensure food security.

The project's campus is intended as a center for experimentation and idea development, closely related to the process of rural development in Costa Rica and the impacts of development on the local population, economy, and ecosystems. The project offers hands-on educational programs, workshops, and research initiatives focused on environmental awareness, sustainable practices, and the connection between people and nature. It promotes collaboration with local communities to initiate and implement sustainable development projects that provide both ecological and social benefits.

The campus features permaculture systems and an adjacent wildlife reserve. It was designed to utilize local building materials for infrastructure and regenerative agricultural practices for production, creating a model for appropriate rural development that can be replicated at the local or regional level.

Furthermore, this project is dedicated to the protection of sea turtles that come to the beaches of the nature reserve to nest. The project thus makes an important contribution to protecting these endangered marine species and raising awareness about animal welfare and the conservation of our oceans.

This project has two areas of responsibility: agriculture and sea turtle conservation. Sea turtle season is from June to January. Between February and May, the volunteer program focuses on community work and agriculture.

Possible sea turtle-related tasks:

• Beach patrols (night and early morning)
• Building turtle nests
• Maintaining nesting areas
• Identifying species and counting turtle eggs
• Collecting and documenting biodiversity data
• Releasing baby turtles on the beach
• Installing and monitoring camera traps
• Beach cleanups

Possible agricultural tasks:

• Working in the tree nursery
• Planting climbing and supporting trees
• Installing composting systems
• Transplanting
• Collecting and preparing seeds

Other tasks:

• Reforesting native trees

The weekly schedule will be posted on the task board each week. Activities vary from week to week, and volunteers are expected to be flexible and adapt to changes. Working hours are generally between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Weekends are free for volunteers to enjoy the beach, visit Montezuma or Santa Teresa, participate in tours, or simply relax with a book.

Note: The tasks may vary. They depend on factors such as number of volunteers, weather, season, current needs of the project, as well as self-motivation. Not every volunteer may be fully involved in all these tasks.

The volunteers live in the Volunteer House. There are shared rooms in six bungalows with a total capacity of approximately 20 people. The facility has three indoor showers, one outdoor shower, and three toilets. The large dining hall, which can accommodate 30 people, is also located on site. A communal kitchen and common areas are also available, as is a classroom for up to 30 people, where workshops and courses are held.

There is a sink for hand washing and clotheslines. Use of the washing machine costs USD 10.

Wi-Fi is not available outside the administration building; there is only one Wi-Fi connection for work-related matters. So, if you want to unwind, this is the place for you . Alternatively, we recommend purchasing a local SIM card so you can be contacted wherever you are (e.g., even on weekends).

Three meals are served daily, prepared by local chefs. If you have allergies or are vegetarian/vegan, this is not a problem. However, volunteers are expected to adhere to meal times, as the dining area is shared by volunteers, rangers, and other staff.

Outside of mealtimes, fruit, fresh fruit juice, and clean tap water are available. Volunteers are welcome to bring food from home or purchase it on-site.

Note: In Latin America, especially in remote areas where many of our volunteer projects take place, the cellular or internet connection is not always reliable and fast.

The project is located somewhat remotely in the southwestern part of the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica, near the small town of Santa Teresa, which boasts various surf schools, several cafés and restaurants, and beautiful beaches. Santa Teresa is internationally renowned for its beautiful beaches and relaxed atmosphere. This region is characterized by its pristine nature, tropical forests, and rich biodiversity.

Mangrove tours, boat trips, hiking, and zip-lining are part of the program offered by local tour operators, as are snorkeling, diving, and surfing. Other nearby towns include Manzanillo Beach, Cabuya and Montezuma, which have equally beautiful beaches and a great atmosphere.

The project site is located within a protected area with nesting sites for sea turtles such as the olive ridley turtle and the critically endangered leatherback turtle. The area is also ideal for birdwatching and beach walks. Playa Arío, just north of the project, is ideal for swimming at high tide. At low tide, visitors can walk over rocks to a shallow lagoon protected by a coral reef—ideal for snorkeling and relaxing.

You can reach the project by bus and ferry from San José. Although the distance is only about 200 km, the journey takes between five and six hours due to road conditions and the ferry ride. The final leg requires a taxi, which costs approximately $100.

In our Wildlife & Nature projects, our volunteers get along well with English language skills.

For optimal program preparation and cultural integration in the destination country, we recommend participating in a Spanish course in Costa Rica (optional).

This volunteer program is designed for medical students and can be used as a practical semester. The position is also suitable for those who are required to complete a medical internship or who aim to acquire initial understanding in the healthcare sector.

You will be observing at a public hospital in Uruguay, gaining valuable insights into the healthcare system and the reality of Uruguay's population. 

Apply your academic knowledge in a professional medical environment, boosting not only your medical training but also your language skills, intercultural competence, soft skills, and personal development. This position will give you the opportunity to get to know various areas of the hospital, including observing surgeries. You can rotate through different departments and learn about the different workflows, including administration.

The tasks can vary and are not always the same. You will support medical staff, whether doctors or nurses.

During the program, participants can expect a primarily shadowing experience, where you will observe various aspects of hospital operations. Previous participants have had the opportunity to watch different areas of the hospital, including observing surgeries and
understanding the workflow of various departments. You may also see how medical staff handle patient interactions and administrative tasks.

We kindly ask participants to remain flexible, as the tasks assigned may vary and will not be the same for everyone. While you will support the medical staff, please note that active
participation in patient care will be limited.

On the first day, our coordinator will accompany you to
meet your supervisor. This initial meeting will help you acclimate to the healthcare environment and set the stage for your experience.

Upon completion of the internship, you will receive a certificate recognizing your participation and accomplishments.

We place volunteers/interns in four different hospitals. Currently, the specialties are urology, pediatrics, and gynecology. Participants can also assist nurses and physicians at a company specializing in genetic studies.

On this medical volunteer program in Uruguay, you can choose between staying in a homestay or in a guesthouse/shared apartment.

In a homestay, you'll be completely immersed in the local culture and immediately connect with people – the best way to "arrive" and shed that tourist feeling. Staying with one of our friendly host families not only provides you with firsthand local knowledge and the best tips, but it's also good for your language skills, as you'll be able to use them daily, even after work.
You'll sleep in a single room and, of course, have access to the house's common areas. Half board is included with this option, so you can also experience the authentic local cuisine.

If you're looking for contact with young people or prefer to cook your own meals, staying in our centrally located guesthouse is a good option. Meals are not included, and you'll be responsible for your own food. You'll also have a single room at your disposal.

Montevideo is known for its high quality of life. The healthcare system is well-developed, the level of education is high, the environment is clean, and there are several places to relax or play sports. Communication level Spanish is recommended so that you can fully engage in your medical internship / volunteer program.

In Córdoba, Argentina, many children and young people grow up in difficult conditions. Poverty, limited educational opportunities, an unbalanced diet, and health problems shape their daily lives. They often lack safe spaces that offer them the possibility for personal development, learning, and a carefree childhood. Without adequate social support, these inequalities are exacerbated, denying many accesses to their opportunities and potential.

The creative music school, which uses recycled musical instruments, is located in four neighborhoods: Nuevo Progreso in the northwest, Ampliación Renacimiento in the east, Nuestro Hogar 3 in the south, and Alberdi near the city center. The music school is part of a foundation that creates learning and development spaces for children and young people in socially vulnerable situations.

The goal is to promote growth, creativity, and the recognition of their own talents. At the music school, children can develop new skills, form habits, and unleash their personal potential. In this way, the children come into contact with social values, musical culture and environmental education.

Volunteering at the music school is more than just an opportunity to experience new cultures; it's a chance to leave a lasting impression on the lives of young people. By volunteering in Córdoba, you'll help change the lives of children through music. At the same time, as a volunteer, you'll gain valuable personal experience and develop your skills.

What the music school offers:

• Lessons for the following instruments: violin, clarinet, guitar, saxophone, xylophone, flute, cello, drums, and vocals.
  Weekly rehearsals and group activities to improve coordination and rhythm.
• Performances at local, provincial, national, and regional cultural events.
• Great emphasis is placed on creating enjoyable shared experiences.
• Making your own instruments from discarded materials or renovating old musical instruments.

The Recycling Instruments Orchestra has participated twice in the "Trofeu Periféria" in Brazil. This award recognizes individuals and groups who make a positive contribution to socially disadvantaged communities. The event is also known as the "Oscar for the Quebradas." It has been organized by the non-governmental organization ORPAS since 2005.

Volunteering at the music school means opening up new perspectives for children, strengthening community, and actively contributing to a more just society. As part of this project, you will help transform children's lives through art and music.

Your placement at the music school in Córdoba, Argentina, is divided into four consecutive phases:

1. Know to Love - Gaining Initial Insights
This phase takes place the week before the volunteer arrives. It consists of approximately two virtual workshops that provide an initial introduction to the history and culture of Argentina and Latin America.
2. Explore to Discover - Experiencing Córdoba
This phase begins with the volunteer's arrival in Córdoba and includes a tour of the city of Córdoba, as well as initial interactions with the foundation, its team, and the community where the volunteer work will take place. This process culminates in a joint assessment of each volunteer's specific skills to assign the tasks they will perform within the program.

3. Work to Learn – Actively Participate
During this phase, volunteers begin their activities within the community. They contribute their knowledge and talents to support local projects. The local team provides ongoing support, assists with integration, and offers emotional support, as well as regular evaluations.
4. Learn to Transform – Shaping Change
During the program, volunteers are encouraged to discover and further develop their leadership style. In the final phase, they can initiate their own social or environmental projects with the support of the foundation and local partner organizations.

Your working hours as a volunteer at the music school are 25 hours per week. Some activities can also take place at weekends when the orchestra has rehearsals or performances. Days during the week may be off.

The local team is focused on supporting you as a volunteer and ensuring you have an unforgettable experience.

Note: The tasks may vary. They depend on factors such as number of volunteers, weather, season, current needs of the project, as well as self-motivation. Not every volunteer may be fully involved in all these tasks.

An important part of volunteering in Córdoba, Argentina, is immersing yourself in the everyday life and culture of the host country. While volunteering at the music school in Córdoba, you will have your own room in a typical homestay, promoting cultural exchange. The homestays are mainly located in the city center of Córdoba or the surrounding area.
