Learning Spanish in Trinidad!
|
Trinidad is located in the central south of Cuba and borders on the Caribbean Ocean. It has approximately 50.000 inhabitants. The city was settled by the Spanish conquerors in the 16th century. Therefore, the colonial and the rustic style of the streets and the buildings still remind of a Spanish city. The neoclassical and baroque styles underline the romantic atmosphere of the city. Due to its excellent location at the ocean, Trinidad used to be a very important harbor in Cuba. Sugar was the most important agricultural product in those days. Also known as the “Museum City”, Trinidad has a wide variety of historical and beautiful highlights to offer. The Palacio Cantero, built in 1827, represents the history of the area with exhibitions like art crafts from the aborigine culture. The beach of Ancon with pure white sand and clean turquoise colored water is a very famous destination close to Trinidad.
SPANISH LANGUAGE PROGRAM
We cooperate successfully with a group of native highly-motivated Spanish teachers who have been offering first class language programs in Trinidad since 2002. All classes take place in the district Downtown either at your host family’s house, at the teacher’s home or in one of the cultural centers of Trinidad. The cultural centers are public institutions where cultural activities like native dance classes are held. All program institutions are very close to the most beautiful sights of the city. At the general meeting point in Trinidad there will always be a contact person to answer your outstanding questions.
Individual support, motivation and success are very important factors for the team when teaching the Spanish language. We are looking forward to welcoming you as a student in Trinidad!

SPANISH COURSES
Our language program offers group, intensive and private courses. While the group courses consist of four classes per day, the intensive courses give you the chance to take four group classes and one or two private classes per day. The private courses consist of four, five or six private classes per day, depending on your personal preferences. One class has 50 minutes. Classes are held from Monday till Friday and can be started any Monday. It is completely up to you which of the courses you choose. In case you would like to study the Spanish language on your own, the private courses will be perfect for you. If you feel like sharing your experiences with other international students, you will definitely enjoy our group and intensive courses.
In order to determine your current Spanish skills you will take a placement test on the first day before class starts.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Salsa rhythms and tuneful music are two main features of this colorful Caribbean culture! You can combine one of the above-mentioned Spanish courses (group, intensive or private course) with either dancing or music instrument classes. Both activities include one hour per day. If you need any further information about the mentioned combinations please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. We will be very happy to respond all your questions.
Once in Cuba our local contact persons will be pleased to help you with the organization of excursions in the country. We invite you to participate in a guided city tour in Trinidad to get to know your temporary home town. Boat excursions are organized to the beautiful beach paradise of Cayo Blanco. A horseback riding trip to Valle de los Ingenious, which used to be the center of sugar production in the past, will be available as well.

ACCOMMODATION
You will be staying with one of the carefully chosen Cuban host families. All host families live in Downtown and thus are very centrally located. A single room will be available for you. Breakfast and dinner are included. Living with a native family gives you the unique chance to practice your newly acquired Spanish skills and immerse into Cuban culture and family life.

OTHER SERVICES
If you would like to get picked up upon arrival at the airport in Trinidad, you can book our airport transfer service. There is an extra fee of € 10. The pick-up service takes you directly and safely to your host family’s place. Please provide us with your detailed flight information (arrival date, time, flight number) so that we can arrange everything.
