CUBA Learning Spanish in Havana!
|
The Cuban capital, located in the west of the country, is one of the oldest cities of the Caribbean islands and has approximately three million inhabitants. Due to the sugar cane trade in the 18th century, Havana experienced an economic boom and many colonial style buildings were constructed to represent the richness of the farmers. Today, these historical monuments are still very present. In Havana, which is also known as the “melting pot”, you will find a wide variety of nationalities from all over the world and the city itself has numerous interesting places to visit and to sight see, for example historical museums and art galleries that should definitely be part of your trip. Starting from the historical center La Habana Vieja, which was declared World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO in 1982 and is now also known as the heart of Havana, to the most famous Avenue of Havana, the Malecón – due to its endless number of visitors every day also known as “the living room of Cuba”. On the 7 km long boulevard you can admire many historical monuments. Those of you who like to relax should definitely visit Playas del Este, an area consisting of four beaches, and only 15 minutes by car from downtown. This beach district is one of the most visited destinations among Cubans.
SPANISH LANGUAGE PROGRAM
In our Cuban language program we cooperate with a group of native, highly educated and perfectly trained Spanish teachers. They are pleased to introduce you to the Spanish language and to achieve the language level that you want to reach by the end of your stay. In order to create a very personal atmosphere and to get you in touch with the local culture, classes take place either at the teacher’s home, at your host family’s house or at one of the cultural centers of the city. The cultural centers are public institutions where cultural activities like native dance classes are held. After many successful years the Spanish teachers in Havana are attracting more and more international students, gaining not just excellent language results but also an unforgettable experience in Cuba. Of course, there is also a general meeting point for all students located in the neighborhood Vedado, one of the most attractive districts of Havana, especially known for its business, commerce, cultural and nightlife facilities.

SPANISH COURSES
Our language program in Havana offers three different types of class options. You choose between group, intensive and private courses. For those of you who like to make new friends as soon as possible, the group course is the perfect choice. If you prefer to study on your own and only specific class topics that you are interested in, then you are made for the different private courses. You would like to combine group and private lessons? Ok, no problem! The intensive courses consist of group classes on the one hand and of additional private lessons on the other hand. Each class is 50 minutes. All courses are held from Monday till Friday and can be started any Monday.
To determine your current Spanish skills and to make sure your knowledge meets the corresponding class level, you are going to take a short Spanish test before starting the lessons.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Learning a language is only one part of getting to know another country’s culture. In order to feel the Cuban rhythm, we also offer course packages where you can combine group, intensive or private classes with either one hour of dancing or one hour of music instrument lessons per day. The additional classes always take place in the afternoon. For further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
Would you like to experience a little bit more about this beautiful country? We will be more than happy to help you with the organization of different trips across Cuba. Excursions can be taken to places such as the colonial city Trinidad, reminding of the era of the Spanish conqueror, or to Varadero, the city of white-sandy beaches next to crystal clear oceans. Once you arrive at Havana, you will be given detailed information about the trips you can participate in.
