Home FAQ Volunteer Work in Latin America What about health coverage?

What about health coverage?

We ask all volunteers to have a full health insurance with coverage in the country you are going to visit. If you keep in mind basic rules of hygiene and precautions like not eating unwashed fruits or food you do not know where it came from, etc., there is no reason to worry. Vaccinations to prevent infection of tropical diseases depends on each volunteer projects. In any case, prior to any trip to remote areas or projects that deal with wildlife, we strongly recommend consulting a doctor who is specialized in tropical diseases with regard to necessary immunizations and medicines.
