How do I exchange currencies and use Traveler’s checks and credit cards?

In every Latin American country you can exchange hard currencies like the US-Dollar, the EURO or Swiss Franc at official money exchange offices or local banks. Be aware of the exchange rate you are charged and compare the rates between the exchange offices to find out which one is the most suitable for you. If you bring Traveler's checks we recommend issuing them in US-Dollar. Additionally, you can withdraw cash in local currency or sometimes in US-Dollar in all bigger cities at any ATM with your personal bank card or credit card. These cards are also widely accepted in shops, restaurants or other facilities.
