Citizens of most Western European, North, Central and South American countries, Australia and New Zealand do not need a visa to visit Costa Rica for up to 90 days.

2. How long does my passport have to be valid when entering Costa Rica?
When entering Costa Rica your passport needs to be valid for at least six more months.
3. What about the airport tax when leaving Costa Rica?
When leaving Costa Rica, you have to pay an airport
tax which is currently US$ 26. This fee can also
be paid in local currency. If your stay was longer
than three months, the fees are significantly higher,
but depend on the purpose of your stay.
4. Which currency is used in Costa Rica? What is the current exchange rate?
The currency of Costa Rica is the Costa-Rica-Colón (CRC). The banknotes
come in denominations of 1.000, 2.000, 5.000 and 10.000 Colones. There
are coins of 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100 and 500 Colones. Sometimes you can
even find coins of 1 or 2 Colones.

5. Where can I exchange money in Costa Rica? Is it possible to withdraw money or pay by credit card?
It is not very common to exchange Euros in Costa Rica. It is much more convenient to exchange US-Dollars. You can withdraw money from any ATM using your bank or credit card. Furthermore, you can also pay by credit card in most of the shops and restaurants throughout the country.

7. When is the best time for visiting Costa Rica?
In Costa Rica there are two main seasons: During
the dry season from December to May it is usually sunny and hot during
the day and hardly rains. It is the perfect time for all of those who
love the hot tropical weather. The “Green Season” (rainy season)
covers the other months and is characterized by hot and sunny weather,
similar to the dry season, but starting from 2 pm there are refreshing,
tropical and warm rainfalls. It does not necessarily rain every day, for
example in June there are two weeks without any rainfall. Costa Rica is
worth a visit any time of the year, it depends on you which season you
prefer.
