1. What are the current visa regulations for Chile?
Citizens of most European, North, Central and South American countries, Australia and New Zealand do not need a visa to visit Chile. On arrival in the country you receive a so called tarjeta de turismo which allows you to stay for up to 90 days in Chile. This tourist card can be extended for another 90 days once you are in the country.

2. How long does my passport have to be valid when entering Chile?
When entering Chile your passport needs to be valid for at least six more months.
3. Which currency is used in Chile? What is the current exchange rate?
The currency of Chile is the Chilean Peso (CLP). The banknotes come in denominations of 1.000, 2.000, 5.000, 10.000 and 20.000 Pesos. There are coins of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 Pesos.

4. Where can I exchange money in Chile? Is it possible to withdraw money or pay by credit card?
In all the bigger Chilean cities there are many exchange offices where you can easily exchange US-Dollars as well as Euros. Using your bank or credit card you can withdraw money from all ATMs in Chile. Credit cards are also widely accepted throughout the country. However, you need to show identification, for example your passport or your driver's license.

6. When is the best time for visiting Chile?
