1. What are the current visa regulations for Argentina?
Citizens of most European, North, Central and South American countries, Australia and New Zealand do not need a visa to visit Argentina. On your arrival in the country you receive a so called tarjeta de turismo which allows you to stay for up to 90 days in Argentina. This tourist card can be extended for another 90 days once you are in the country.

Important: In Argentina you are not of age until you turn 21. If you have already celebrated your 18th but not your 21st birthday, please contact the Argentine consulate in your home country before traveling to Argentina.

2. How long does my passport have to be valid when entering Argentina?
When entering Argentina your passport needs to be valid for at least three more months.

3. What about the airport tax when leaving Argentina?
If you are planning on spending all your money on your last night in Argentina, please bear in mind that you have to pay an airport tax when leaving the country, which can only be paid cash. Currently, the airport tax is US$ 18 for international flights.

4. Which currency is used in Argentina? What is the current exchange rate?
The currency of Argentina is the Argentine Peso (ARS). The banknotes come in denominations of 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 Pesos. There are coins of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 Centavos and 1 Peso.

5. Where can I exchange money in Argentina? Is it possible to withdraw money or pay by credit card?
In all big cities in Argentina there are exchange offices and banks where you can easily exchange US-Dollars or Euros. You can withdraw Argentine Pesos or even US-Dollars from any ATM using your bank or credit card. Furthermore, you can pay by credit card in most of the big shops and restaurants.

7. When is the best time for visiting Argentina?

However, during the summer months from December to March temperatures can rise significantly. In the south of Argentina the climate is sub-arctic.
