|
Learn Spanish surrounded by vivid music, tropical sun and Caribbean flair!
Eternal summer, nostalgic bays, endless white sandy beaches, turquoise colored oceans, salsa rhythms and memories of Buena Vista Social Club – welcome to the beautiful and unbelievable natural miracle of Cuba! Located between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, Cuba is the biggest insular state of the Greater Antilles and has almost 111.000 km2. The island has a mainly hilly landscape, mountain ranges can be found in the southeast, in the center of the southern coast and very far at the west end. It’s here where Cuba’s highest mountain Pico Turquino (1.947m) is located. Besides the endless cactuses and the thorn bushes, a typically natural feature of this tropical paradise is the giant Cuban King Palm that can reach up to 40m. With approximately 340 kinds of birds and about 700 different kinds of fish, Cuba has a rich animal world mainly due to its climatic conditions. When exploring the island you will also be absolutely amazed by the famous red flame trees.
The official language in Cuba is Spanish, but throughout the island you will also hear different dialects. At the beginning of the 90ies Cuba collapsed into an economic crisis due to the loss of important business partners from Eastern Europe. Nowadays, the country is run by a socialistic system.
Having only spent a couple of hours in this delightful place, the enthusiasm and vitality of the Cubans will be passed on to you and you will easily make new friends over here – a good purpose to practice your newly acquired Spanish language skills!
